Valley High School
Class of 1965
ANNOUNCEMENTS

Fellow classmates,

Eli Padilla has worked very hard to create a plaque honoring those veterans who died while in service and who were Valley students.  Also with the plaque, there is a scholarship for valley students/children of students/etc.  The details have not been figured out yet, but I am sure if you want to have input into the system, you will be welcome.  Money is always welcome.

There will be a dedication of the plaque on Nov. 11, 2022 at 1:00pm in the Valley High School gym.

The students have that day off, so we will be free of the chaos of high school.  The plaque is allready up and there will be dignitaries there, including our own Bob King in his full military regalia.  (You can tell I know very little about the military, so if I use the wrong words, please forgive me.)  The 11th is a Friday, and is Veterans Day.  Please come and support a very interesting cause.

Hello Fellow Vikings,

Larry Chavez has offered to host a social hour for us.  At the 50th reunion, we had a great time, but the one activity that got the most raves was the Friday night social hour.  Therefore, we are doing it again.

What: Valley High School 52nd reunion social

Date:  Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017

Time:  6:00 p.m. until we all go home

Place: Dreamstyle Remodeling on Renaissance opposite Sam's Club.

Cost: Donation to the reunion fund, if you wish.  Larry is providing the place, food, entertainment and wait staff.

We will need a response if you are coming, so we can tell Larry how many to expect.

We had more than 200 people attend the 50th reunion, so I hope we have a goodly number attend this.  As we get older, there will be fewer of us, so come while we are just turning/turned 70 years old.

Speaking of older, if any of you know of a deceased classmate, please tell me.  Nobody can do this job alone, and I need all the help I can get on this project.

well, i am trying to get used to using this site. I just broke a 23 year old fibreglas shovel-that's the way it has been lately-people and things are either breaking or dying-it sure makes me feel vulnerable. I am the old man of my family as of the 15th of Aug, when my 72 yr old sis (vhs 61) Helen, died. I guess I better finish up my autobiography pretty dang quick, cuz her passing is a ghost of Christmas future. Also, I am LMAO about the project in my workshop. I am replacing a rear quarter panel on our family car-a 14 year old chrysler! I am laughing, because when we were married (67) our first family car was a 54 pontiac. A year newer than the one I have now. How's that for progress? My house has become my enemy because it is falling apart maintenance is DUE! Reminds of Tennessee Ernie Ford singin' "This Old House!" The next few years ought to be a pretty wild ride, don't ya think? Best of life to everyone. ol' Bill Marshall
