Lana Louise Campbell was born September 17, 1947, to parents Marvin L. and Marjorie Lindt Campbell in Wichita, KS. She was three minutes older than her identical twin sister, Linda Campbell, who survives Lana. Other survivors include her mother, Marjorie Campbell, and brother, Kenneth Campbell and wife Peggy. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Campbell, who died December 12, 2005. Lana graduated high school in Albuquerque, NM. and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from Eastern New Mexico University. She retired from teaching elementary school in the Albuquerque School System after 25 years. She then moved to Levelland in 1994 to live with her sister, who was an instructor at South Plains College. Lana then became a secretary at the Hockley County Senior Citizens Center of Levelland, where she made many friends. She retired from there when she became ill. She was a member of the first United Methodist Church in Levelland and sang in the Chancel Choir. She was called home by her Lord on April 23, 2009, after a long illness. A memorial service will be held Monday, April 27, 2009, at 4 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Levelland with Reverend Wendell Horn officiating. The family suggests memorials to be sent to the Hockley County Senior Center of Levelland, or Interim Hospice of Lubbock. Cremation services are under the director of George Price Funeral Home.
