Charles Howard Higgins, Ph.D.

Charles Howard Higgins, Ph.D. – 49, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 1997. Dr. Higgins was born in Albuquerque on Sept. 9, 1947. He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Higgins, and his infant son, Marc Bradley. Dr. Higgins is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Connie, and loving daughter Kelly of Albuquerque; his mother, Betty Gentry of Albuquerque; four sisters, Dawn Higgins of Albuquerque, Linda Higgins of Rio Rancho, Alice Wylie of Clovis and Lori Sturgess of Rio Rancho. He was a 1965 graduate of Valley High School and a New Mexico State University alumnus with a doctorate in Electrical Engineering and Computer Architecture. Dr. Higgins has 30 years of service with Kirkland AFB, more recently as a Senior Research Engineer at the Starfire Optical Range. He is remembered as a devoted husband and father, loving son and brother, and “the most fun uncle ever!” In true engineer fashion, he loved to build, take apart, fix and tinker. Services were held Saturday, 10 am at Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd NE, with Rev. William Sturgess officiating.
