Leslie Jane Visic – Honor Student Dies in Hawaii. An honor student, Leslie Jane Visic, 19-year-old Albuquerque girl, was found dead in a friend’s Honolulu, Hawaii, apartment Friday night. She was a student at the University of Hawaii. An autopsy report was expected today. The mother, Mrs. E. Jane Visic, said she learned of her daughter’s death Saturday by a telephone call from the dead girl’s friend. Honolulu police said they found a note next to the body which indicated the girl had taken her own life. A spokesman for the family said today that they have no other details. A former student at the University of New Mexico, Miss Visic was an honor student at Valley High School where she was on the debate team. Also surviving are her father, John Visic; one brother, John F. Visic; a grandmother, Mrs. Nina M Porter, all of Albuquerque, and another grandmother, Mrs. Mary Visic of El Segunda, California. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Albuquerque Tribune, February 1, 1967, page C-5. Follow-up story: Rites at Noon Today for Leslie Visic, 19, will be held at noon today in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Rabbi David Shor will officiate and private interment will be made at a later date in Fairview Park Cemetery. Miss Visic died in Honolulu, Hawaii, last Friday. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Visic of 2323 Kathryn SE and was a student at the University of Hawaii. She formerly attended the University of New Mexico.
